Assessing ‘Depth of Understanding’ – The 5-way split
De-Tracker uses a 5 point grading to reflect ‘depth of understanding’ against the yearly Programmes of Study and Expanded Descriptors.
Emerging / MET- / MET / MET+ / Deep
A 5-way split better supports finer tracking of Attainment within a year and Progress over longer periods of time. It also ensures that the ‘deeper understanding’ by higher attainers is celebrated, without the need to push into other year group’s gradings too early.
For SEND and G&T pupils De-Tracker will accept gradings from lower or higher years.
Tracking for the Early Years Profile using the standard E22-36, D30-50, S40-60
and ELG1/2/3 approach.
